A free claimed business account can read and dispute access concerns. If the concern shows a training gap, the one-time corrective action offer gives the business a focused course and quiz without starting a subscription. Passing creates a corrective completion certificate, closes training material access, and may show only that corrective action was taken. No badge or recognition is added. One-time: $149 - no subscription required.

Common questions

Is PawPass training legally required?
No. PawPass training is educational and operational. It does not carry the force of law, does not guarantee legal compliance, and does not prevent every dispute. It gives staff clearer tools for handling service dog access situations and gives the business a documented good-faith training record.
What counts as a service animal under the ADA?
Under ADA Title III — which covers restaurants, hotels, retail, and most public businesses — a service animal is a dog individually trained to do work or perform tasks related to a person's disability. Emotional support animals are not service animals under this definition. Miniature horses may qualify in some settings.
What happens when an access concern is filed about my business?
The business can create a free PawPass business account, claim the listing, read the access concern, and submit a factual response or dispute from the business console. If corrective training is appropriate, PawPass can offer a one-time corrective action path without requiring a subscription. Passing that course gives a corrective completion certificate and may show only that corrective action was taken. It does not create a badge, certification, award, paid visibility, or ongoing training access.
What is the PawPass Certified badge?
The Certified badge means the business completed the required PawPass courses for that certification year, met the current platform criteria, and was approved for display. It is publicly visible and verifiable, but it is not a government ADA certification or legal determination.
Can I cancel at any time?
Monthly plans can be canceled anytime and paid access continues through the end of the billing period. Annual plans can be canceled to stop renewal, but unused time is not automatically refunded. When a paid plan ends, the business drops to the free dashboard and loses paid features such as enhanced profile tools, review responses, image tools, trust score display, training access, certificates, and badges where applicable.
What if access feedback about us is unfounded?
You can dispute it from the business console, starting with the free claimed account. PawPass admins review disputes before badge action is taken. If the concern does not hold up under review, it can be marked unfounded and closed.
Can Certified businesses step down later?
Yes. Certified is a yearly certification cycle. During that paid year, Certified includes visibility, engagement, and certification features. The certification, badge, training access, and certification certificates expire after that year unless Certified is renewed. At renewal, the business can renew Certified or step down to Access Ready if they only want ongoing visibility, review tools, profile tools, and access reporting.
